A Little About Yergz....

Education and Background....

Yergz graduated from the Boyertown Area Senior High School (now Boyertown High School), in Boyertown, PA; Class of 1990. With a primary interest in ice hockey, Yergz trained at the US Olympic Training Center, Lake Placid, NY with aspirations of becoming an NHL Referee. When that did not come to fruition, Yergz continued in college and went on to professional baseball.

In 1995, Yergz graduated from Penn State University with a degree in US History, and a minor in Political Science. In January 1996, Yergz began his professional baseball umpiring career, where he'd work towards the Major Leagues for the next two seasons. When baseball also didn't yield a Major League career, Yergz set his sites on, as his recruiter put it, "the Major Leagues of Law Enforcement" and would eventually apply to be a Special Agent with the US Secret Service.

First, Yergz developed his resume further by taking part in a "ride along" internship with the North Coventry Township Police Department, in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Here Yergz performed regular law enforcement tasks and learned about the trade, first hand. He also headed a project that re-numbered EVERY mailing address in the township to make them ready for the newly created "911" system. This required over 8000 residences to have a unique street address so that law enforcement and emergency services could immediately find an exact spot on a map, as opposed to a "Rural Route" or "Rural Delivery."

Special Agent,
US Secret Service....

On Monday, July 17, 2000, Yergz walked into the Philadelphia Field Office of the US Secret Service for the last time as a recruit, and the first time as a trainee, beginning a 21+ year career as a Special Agent. With three years in Philly, including a dramatic first day as the office's on-call "Duty Agent" on 9/11, Yergz moved on to his second assignment in August of 2003 when he was reassigned to the San Francisco Field Office.

Here, Yergz would continue his track of criminal investigations, including a long-term undercover assignment, as well as protection assignments, one that earned him the "opportunity" to be "pitched" by a foreign intelligence service. The resulting cooperation with the FBI (and other intelligence services in a quiet capacity), gained Yergz experience that few other Agents would ever experience.

In May of 2007, Yergz was transferred to Washington, DC and the Clinton Protective Division, where Yergz was assigned to, then, Senator (and Former First Lady) Hillary Clinton. Here he would come to know the entire Clinton Family, as well as travel, primarily with Hillary, during her first campaign for President during the 2008 Democratic Primary. Hillary's famous Saturday Night Live bit, where she was dressed identical to Amy Poehler, saw Yergz get a personal tour of the set of SNL by Amy Poehler - dressed as Hillary! Yergz was there for her "Million Cracks" speech, Yergz was on the door of her Senate office when a friend of Hillary's swore her in as Barack Obama's first Secretary of State and Yergz was one of three agents from the Detail that was invited to Mrs Rodham's celebration of life, as a guest. That was actually a dying request of Mrs "Grandma" Rodham!

But it was also here that Yergz would experience the first of three illegal and unethical investigations by the Secret Service into his sexuality. One of his supervisors blatantly asked other agents if they knew that Yergz was gay, and also asked how they felt about it. Three of them came to Yergz, pissed, and gave him the heads up...

After three years on the Clinton Detail, Yergz spent the next 8.5 in The Washington (DC) Field Office. Here, Yergz would be investigated for the second time; this time by headquarters, for "violations of the Hatch Act." We'll leave the details of this juicy investigation out, but they are, of course, available during his public speaking engagements...

Also at "WFO," Yergz would do some of his sexier protective advances. Due to the nature of some of the arrangements, the details are still classified, however, let's just say that Yergz can help to secure your major events or personal security, much the same way he's advanced two inaugurations, multiple historic visits by foreign dignitaries and other high profile protections assignments.

Yergz was in the Los Angeles Field Office from January of 2019 until his retirement in November of 2021. Here he saw the ouster of Trump 1.0, as well as some of the BLM riots (and no sending in of the National Guard by Trump). Part of the riots, those that were on Melrose Avenue, were less than a block from "Chez Yergz," the funny nick name for his home at the time. The downtown riots were within view of the Field Office, another "home" that appeared under attack for a short while. Yergz saw the inauguration of Joe Biden, the 46th President, his sixth inauguration and seventh president under which he's served (Bill Clinton was already in office when Yergz joined in 2000). In November of 2021, Yergz retired and relocated to Tampa, Florida, where he currently lives with his dogs, Matrix and Shady, as well as his son, Zack. He talks on the radio, rides jet skis and is rebuilding his house, still, from Hurricane Helene.

In November of 2021, all of his "bullet catching" came to an end with "retirement" to the Tampa Bay Area. That doesn't mean that Yergz slowed any....

Within the last year or so of his career, Yergz began day trading. His very successful first year inspired Yergz to share his insights to trading, so he launched "The Doggy Traders." While this was not the success he'd hoped, his new passion for broadcasting ignited a new fire that sought a subject matter where Yergz could excel. Enter the 2024 election, the firing of Dan Bongino and Tucker Carlson, and a level of expertise that no one else had!

With that, Yergz launched "Up The Middle," followed by the parent network, Mastiff.Media. Now six radio stations and growing, Mastiff.Media also offers a aray of business related broadcasting services. Check those out, here.

"Retirement...."

Constant Improvement....

Education and overall skill development are something that Yergz has mastered for his entire life. As his Dad, Irv "Yogi" Yerger, taught him, "As soon as you are satisfied, you go backwards."

Yergz has never been satisfied.

He's constantly learning, practicing, getting coaching and improving. If there is something that you'd like to see worked on here, on "Up The Middle," or with Yergz, himself, please write us at:
